ALBERT LEA, Minn. — Mary I. Timm, 93, of Albert Lea, Minn., formerly of Huron, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at the St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea, Minn.
Her graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Riverside Cemetery at Huron.
Mary I. Jewett was born August 29, 1924, in Locust Grove, Okla. to Artie and Maggie (Jones) Jewett. She was united in marriage to William Timm November 29, 1942.
The couple farmed in Huron until 1966, when they moved to Rock Falls, Ill. and then to Brewster, Minn. from 1973-1978. In 1978, they moved to Albert Lea, Minn. so that William could take a new job at Land O Lakes Foods.
She attended Presbyterian churches in Brewster, Minn., Rock Falls, Ill., and the Methodist church in Huron. She enjoyed, gardening, sewing, and knitting. Mary and William also loved square dancing, and were members of square dancing clubs in Huron and in Minn. They had the privilege of square dancing for President Jimmy Carter’s Presidential Inauguration.
She is survived by her children, David (Theresa) Timm of Ogden, Utah, Dwayne Timm of Albert Lea, Minn., and Kathy (Tony) Thompson of Glenville, Minn.; Three grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Neal of Locust Grove, Okla., and Ilah Grace of Chandler, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Darrell; and brothers, Claude, Doyle, Jess, and Junior Jewett.
