SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Matthew J. (Flynn) O’Flynn, 48, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Huron, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, in San Diego.
A memorial will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 22, at St. Mary’s Church in Lake City, Minnesota.
Matthew was born August 7, 1969, to James R. Flynn and the late Donna Flynn. He grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1987. After high school, he joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Hawaii. Later, he attended Emporia State University graduating with a bachelor’s degree.
He is survived by his wife, Tina O’Flynn; daughter, Taylor O’Flynn; his siblings, Michael and his children, Melissa and Christopher, Jeff and his children, Beth and Ryan, Cheryl Eskens and her children, Nichole and Danielle, Cindy (Paul) Anderson and their children, John, Kate and Laura, Julie Nelson and her children, Katie and Erik, and Tim Flynn.
Given Matt’s love for golf, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Tee, a youth development organization introducing the game of golf; or contributions may be made to an organization of your choice.
