REDFIELD — Maxine M. Mason, 98, of Redfield, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 5, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield with the family present beginning at 6 p.m.
Maxine M. Mason was born October 11, 1918, in Frankfort to Lyman and Ethel (Wandell) Wetzbarger. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Clair “Bud” Minnick in 1941. She had been employed by the S.D. Developmental Center in Redfield for 22 years. She married Eugene Mason in 1976.
Maxine is survived by her stepson, Zane (Brenda) Mason of Frankfort; two stepdaughters, Marcia Mason-Wilson of Coalinga, Calif., and Linda (Jeff) Ripley of Clovis, Calif.; by eight stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; brothers, Donald Wetzbarger, Leonard Wetzbarger and Gates Wetzbarger; and sisters, Zelma Olson, Lenora Heyse and Lorraine McDermott.
