WESSINGTON SPRINGS —
Melvin Schorzmann, 88, of Wessington Springs, and formerly of Alpena, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Alpena United Parish in Alpena, with military honors by the Huron Veteran’s Council, and burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Welter Funeral Home, with a prayer service to begin at 3:30; or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Melvin Delmer Schorzmann was born on January 19, 1931, to Albert and Martha (Horst) Schorzmann.
Melvin married Alice Heins on October 4, 1975.
Melvin is survived by his stepsons, Clifford (Janene) Jager, Luverne (Linda) Jager, and Daryle (Jane) Jager; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard Schorzmann of Oregon; and many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice; four brothers, Edgar, Victor, Elmer, and Gordon Schorzmann; and two sisters, Lenora Keelin, and Arlene Mees-Schnabel.
