FLANDREAU — Michael Joseph Welsh, 77, of Flandreau, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, in Flandreau.
A Celebration of his Life is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020, with visitation at 10 a.m. at the De Smet Event Center in De Smet. Burial will be 4 p.m. at Saint William’s Catholic Cemetery in Yale, on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Michael was born in Huron to Blanche and Emmet Welsh.
In 1964, Mike was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge.
Mike married LaJean Whites in 1971.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Isidro Pro JR); granddaughter, Korrine Pro; siblings, Regina McCarthy (Dick), Terry Welsh, Rose Tyrrell, Eileen Welsh, Kay (Al) Piper, David Welsh, and Diana (Joe) Koenig; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dick; brother-in-law, Tom Tyrrell; sisters-in-law, Ann Welsh and Sandy Welsh; and nephews, Brent and Steven Tyrrell.
