Eighth-grade boys
PIERRE — The Huron eighth-grade boys’ basketball teams swept Pierre in a trio of games Saturday.

Parker Graff had 17 points, three rebounds and two assists to lead the Tigers (4-0) to a 59-33 win in the A-game. Mason Jurgens had 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Tommie Martin had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Huron recorded a 51-11 win in the B-game.

Landon Hulst led the Tigers (3-1) with 16 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Martin had 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals, while Shawn Messimore had eight points and three rebounds.

Huron inked a 33-26 win in the C-game.

Giovonni Rios led the Tigers (2-2) with 12 points, five rebounds and two assists. Rayshawn Wipf had eight points and 10 rebounds, while Messimore had six points, five rebounds and two assists.

Seventh-grade boys
PIERRE — Pierre handed the Huron seventh-grade boys’ team its first loss of the season on Saturday with a 45-33 win.

Anderson Porisch led the Tigers (3-1) with 16 points. Ty Kleinsasser had nine points, while Chase Schuchhardt and Bryson North each had four points.

Seventh-grade girls
HURON — Pierre earned a pair of wins against Huron’s seventh-grade girls’ basketball team on Saturday.
Pierre won the A-game 34-22.

Abagail Harrington led the Tigers with 12 points, which included a 6-of-8 effort from the free-throw line. Izzy Kremer and Ava Wambach each had five points.

Pierre emerged with a 23-18 win in the B-game.

Natalie Kinsley had eight points to lead Huron, while Wambach had five points. Olivia Purintun and Camdyn Fuchs finished with three and two points, respectively.

Eighth-grade girls
HURON — The Huron eighth-grade girls’ basketball team split a pair of games against Pierre on Saturday.
Huron won the A-game 30-23.

Aly Davis led the Tigers with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Chloe Carr had six points and 10 rebounds, while Kyla Peskey had five points and five rebounds.

Pierre won the B-game 25-7.

Olivia Thompson and Libby Heyer each had two points and five rebounds for the Tigers, while Yoselyn Yanes snagged eight rebounds.
