REDFIELD — Milton Everett Schmidt, 88, of Redfield, formerly of Rockham, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield.  
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Burial will follow in the Rockham Cemetery in Rockham. Visitations with family present, will be Monday in Redfield at the Eastern Star Chapel from 3 to 4 p.m., and at the Hyke Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.
Milton Everett Schmidt was born June 3, 1929, in Rockham to Fred and Elsie (Pierce) Schmidt. He grew up and attended school in the Rockham area. He was united in marriage to Dorothea Stapp March 12, 1947. The couple lived and farmed in Lynn Township of Hand County until April of 2010. He will be remembered as an honest and hardworking man. He was a very loving, caring father and husband.
He is survived by his children, Gary Schmidt of Rockham, Greg (Linda) Schmidt of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Grant (Donna) Schmidt of Redfield, Gwen (Randy) Johnson of Miller, and Cindy (Bob) Nuhsbaumer of Zell; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife; siblings, Fred Schmidt, Argie Joyce, Elaine Lingscheit, and Marylin Bottum; and one great-grandson, Dakota Everett Schmidt.
