Mitchell defeats Tigers golf team

MITCHELL — With four of the top five golfers in the event, Mitchell earned a boys’ golf victory against Huron on Thursday at Lakeview Golf Course.
The Kernels, who were led by Max Tupper with a 71, had a team score of 319 to finish 42 strokes better than the Tigers.
Max Dailey was second for Mitchell at 75, while Lincoln Bates and Ashton Reimnitz finished at 86 and 87, respectively.

Marty Boetel was Huron’s top golfer with an 85, which put him third overall.
Rounding out the lineup for the Tigers were Will Smith at 91, Nathan Gauer at 92 and Landon Roberts at 93.
The Kernels also won the middle school competition using a score of 376 to finish well out in front of the Tigers, who had 490.
Brady Reiners led Mitchell with a 91. He was followed by Benny Wilbur with a 92, Marshall Widstrom with a 94 and AJ Wilbur with a 99.
Using a score of 103, Aiden Zavesky led Huron. Luke Eckhardt had a 125 and was followed by Jase Schley with a 128 and Kaiser Ruth-Styer with a 134.
The Tigers will now be off until the Pierre Invite at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
