Mueller helps Oahe record victory against All-Stars


FORT PIERRE — Oahe goalie Tate Mueller limited the Huron All-Stars to just a single goal during a 6-1 victory by the Capitals on Saturday.
Mueller recorded 21 saves to secure the victory.
Spencer Wedin had a pair of goals for Oahe, while Talon Griese, Clay Ambach, Raef Briggs and Caden Davis each had a goal.
Xavier Erickson had the lone goal for Huron in the second period. Rei Hoops and Izaiah Phillips assisted on the play.
Marty Boetel had 22 saves in the net for the All-Stars.
Huron will return to action Saturday, with an 8 p.m. game against Aberdeen at Bergman Arena.

JV boys
FORT PIERRE — Using a goal early in the third period, Oahe escaped with a 1-0 victory in a junior varsity game against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday.
Jake Wehde stopped 39 of the 40 shots he faced in the net for Huron.

Lady All-Stars
The Huron Lady All-Stars emerged with a split in a pair of games.
On Friday, Brookings recorded a 5-1 win against the Lady All-Stars at Bergman Arena.
The Lady Rangers had 42 shots on goal, compared to just nine for Huron.
Jadyn Peterson had a pair of goals in the opening period for the Lady Rangers and earned a hat trick with the lone goal in the third period. Adison Ramlo and Janaya Kuehl also had a goal each for Brookings.
Marina Gerstner earned the win in the net for the Lady Rangers with eight saves.
Ashley Busch had the lone goal for Huron in the second period on a pass from Deja Phillips.
Allisa Ferguson recorded 37 saves for the Lady All-Stars.
Huron rebounded with a 4-2 win against Oahe on Saturday.
Five of the six goals, including all four of the Lady All-Stars’ goals were scored in the second period.
Brooklynn Herman opened the scoring just 57 seconds into the second period, scoring on a pass from Jenna Keyser and Sara Bierne.
Devin Hunter had the first goal for Huron, scoring on an unassisted shot. Abby Thomas followed with an unassisted goal to give the Lady All-Stars a 2-1 advantage.
Thomas then scored on a pass from Busch to make it 3-1 and Busch capped the scoring with a power play goal. Thomas and Fatima Reyes combined for the assist on the final goal.
Ferguson earned the win in the net for Huron with 21 saves.
Abigail Stewart-Fromm had 30 saves for Oahe.
The Lady All-Stars will host Aberdeen at 8 p.m. Friday at Bergman Arena and then host Mitchell at noon on Saturday.

U14 girls
The Huron U14 girls’ team recorded a pair of wins.
The Lady All-Stars rolled to a 9-0 victory against Brookings on Friday.
Kylee Small recorded a hat trick with three goals for Huron. Alexis Priest had a pair of goals, while Azalea Rashaad, Alexis Rashaad, Alexis Priest, Hunter and Izabel Casper each had a goal.
Recording an assist each were Priest, Azalea Rashaad, Elizabeth Heyer, Anna Fuerst and Alexis Rashaad.
Marissa Ready collected the shutout in the net with five saves for the Lady All-Stars.
Ready earned a second shutout in as many outings with 10 saves against Watertown on Sunday.
Azalea Rashaad had the first goal for Huron just 25 seconds into the game. She scored on a pass from Priest.
Small had the next three goals to earn a hat trick for the Lady All-Stars. Two were of the unassisted variety, while the other was assisted by Priest.
The final goal was scored by Priest on an unassisted shot.
The U14 girls will host Aberdeen at 6 p.m. Friday at Bergman Arena and then face Mitchell at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bergman Arena.
