LAKE BYRON — Three new trustees were elected to the Lake Byron Sanitary Sewer District, in a special election held May 28.
Larry Picek earned 105 votes in the six-person race, while Bradley Tschetter ended with 100 votes and Larry Cooper garnered 98. Other candidates for the board included Mike Hofer (66 votes), Tim Ketchum (64) and Brandon Wipf (56).
The newly elected board of trustees will replace Gayle Kludt, Doug Greenwood and Hofer, who were on the board prior to the election.
In a special meeting to canvass the vote held on June 2, the new trustees were sworn in and Picek was elected to the position of board chairman.
Also on the ballot was a question on increasing the number of sewer district trustees from the current number of three to five. That measure was defeated 111-52 and the board will remain at three members.
