HURON — Nicholas John Osmin, 34, of Huron, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his home.
His memorial service will be 1p.m., Thursday, January 11, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. A memorial service in New York will be announced at a later date.
Nicholas John Osmin was born July 7, 1983, at Hornell, New York to Sherry and Robert Osmin. He enlisted in the United States Army with the 10th Mountain Division as a mechanic with his secondary MOS in infantry. He served a twelve-month tour in Afghanistan, earning multiple medals including the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal and the Combat Service Ribbon.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry Osmin (Porfirio Vasquez) of Canisteo, N.Y.; his father, Robert Osmin of Port Aransas, Texas; his loving partner in life, Kari Luellman of Huron; children, Keerstin Mary of Avoca, N.Y., Cyra Rogue of Huron, and Kristofer Osmin of Lyons, N.Y.; stepchildren, Paige Wise, and Nathan Wise both of Hornell, N.Y..; siblings, Erica Brewer of Avoca, N.Y., Valerie Sexton of Jasper, N.Y., and Nathan Osmin of Port Aransas, Texas; grandparents, Shirley and Charles Marlatt, and Eloise Turner, all of Canisteo, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Cole.
