RAPID CITY — A pair of Huron players were named to the all-tournament team during the Class AA State Volleyball Tournament, which concluded Saturday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
Hollee Niehus, a 5-8 junior middle and outside hitter, led the Tigers with 50 kills during the three-day tournament. She had 19 in the opening round against Rapid City Stevens, 10 against Mitchell in the consolation semfinals and 21 during the consolation title match.
Niehus was also a threat from the service line, finishing the tournament with eight aces.
Also selected to the all-tournament team for Huron was sophomore libero Havyn Heinz.
Heinz recorded a team-high 94 digs for the Tigers. She also had four aces.
