Noem confirms three additional positive COVID-19 tests in Beadle County

PIERRE — Governor Kristi Noem held a press briefing Wednesday evening to relay the results of completed testing f after the state was able to clear some of the backlog due to the lack of test-reading supplies at state laboratories.
Noem reported that more than 300 tests were still awaiting enzymes to read the test swab as positive or negative before the shipment from the federal government arrived today. The state laboratory was able to complete 94 tests today with 91 tests coming back negative.
All three positive tests belong to individuals who reside in Beadle County, she said.
While the information was not put together for Gov. Noem at the time of the briefing, the three individuals are one each in the 30-39 age group, 40-49 age group, and 60-69 age group. The three positive tests were from two males and one female. The individuals have been contacted and are quarantining at home and none are in the hospital presently.
