HURON — S.D. Governor Kristi Noem’s continuing state-wide tour to discuss the dispersal of federal COVID-19 relief funds will come to the Fair City today, with a scheduled 10 a.m. engagement at Huron’s City Hall.
Due to social distancing, the event is not open to the public. It can be streamed at the city’s YouTube page. Go to Youtube.com and search ‘Huronsd,’ for the link.
Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act that was approved by both Houses of Congress and signed by President Trump, created a fund for relief of pandemic-related expenses, on a repayment basis.
Huron is slated to have access to just over $3 million and Beadle County has $1.2 million available, as funds are allocated based on population.
