HURON — Norma Miller, 93, of Huron, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, September 20, at the American Lutheran Church.
Norma Teresa Olson was born October 11, 1924, to Adolph and Marie Olson, both Swedish immigrants. They resided in the Andersonville district of Chicago, Ill. Norma graduated from Amundsen High School in 1942. She was a member of Albany Park Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
She was united in marriage to George B. Miller April 21, 1945, at Chicago and resided in Texas until George’s discharge from the Army Air Corp following WWII, when they returned to Chicago. They enjoyed close ties with family and friends in Chicago, Des Plaines, and Arlington Heights. They enjoyed entertaining and travelling. Norma was a 50-year member of Grace Lutheran in Prospect Heights. She continued to reside in Arlington Heights after George’s death until 2011, when she moved to Huron to be near family.
She is survived by her son, Ken and Melinda Miller of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Susan and Steve Gubbrud of Norfolk, Neb.; daughter-in law,  Abigail and Steve Albert of Poway, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1996; and one sister, Evelyn.
