HURON — O. Juanita “Nete” Fritzsche, 88, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 16, at First Presbyterian Church in Wessington. A private burial will be held prior to the service in Wessington Cemetery.
Nete Schamp was born January 5, 1930, in Bonilla to Joe and Dorothy (Walcher) Schamp. She grew up in the Bonilla area and graduated from Bonilla High School.
She was united in marriage to Donald Fritzsche May 7, 1950. She held various jobs throughout her life including the Wessington Post Office until she was 82 years old, Standard Oil and Cenex Station, and the Times Enterprise newspaper, but her most cherished job was that of wife and mother. She was a member of Eastern Stars and American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
 Nete loved cooking for friends and family with her specialty being “Nete’s Buns.” She was also gifted at crochet, with lace tablecloths being her masterpiece. Nete loved a good game of scrabble as well as playing board games, sudoku and crossword puzzles-in ink! Nete spent many hours tending to her garden enjoying the birds and flowers. She was also an avid reader.
Grateful to have shared in her life is her husband of 67 years, Don; children, Paul Fritzsche of Lake Preston, Mona (Dennis) Olson of Huron, and Lisa Fritzsche of Sioux Falls; four granddaughters, Heidi Jensen, Sara (Tim) Opheim, Mariah, and Molly Norman; one great-grandson, Sincere; siblings, Darrell (Sharon) Schamp of Great Falls, Mont., Beth Fliehe of Redfield, and Melba (Cam) Gallagher of Huron; as well as sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lyda; and brothers, Russell and John.
