HIGHMORE — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds were on the road Tuesday night, bringing home a 3-1 281 Conference volleyball win over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates. Set scores for Wolsey-Wessington in the wild match were 25-14, 25-11, 11-25 and 25-10.
Chantel Haider led the Lady Warbird attack with 11 kills, seven service aces and also contributed 11 defensive digs on the night. Shayla Muilenburg handed out 30 assists for W-W, while Ally Boomsma led the defense with 13 digs. Lizzi Brandt added eight kills and Allison King contributed seven for the Lady Warbirds, who improve to 9-6 with the win. Cortney Sprecher had four blocks in the match and Raquel Nelson added a pair. Wolsey-Wessington hosts Wessington Springs tonight in Wolsey.
The Pirates were led by Grace Knox with five kills, one block, two aces and seven digs. Letha Jessen, Maddie Bollweg and Maria Pazour each added three kills and Kassie Hale had a game-high 19 digs for the Pirates, who fall to 8-13 with the loss. Highmore-Harrold will seek to get back on the winning track tonight, at Herreid-Selby.
