The thunderstorm that passed through the Heartland on Tuesday night featured very strong straight-line winds.
These photos, of the Fishers Grove Golf Course east of Redfield, are representative of the damage to the area, with several trees and small structures affected by the wind.
Huron had several tree limbs downed, although no major damage was reported. Some farmers, however, reported that large fields of sensitive young soybeans were destroyed by the wind and blowing soil.
