Rep. Roger Chase, R-Huron, sponsored Huron High School senior Cally Anderson as a House page in the current legislative session. The daughter of Corey and Crystal Anderson of Huron, Cally hopes to major in political science on her way to law school and a career as a lawyer. Her favorite part of being a page was watching bills as they progress through committee hearings to the House floor.
In the next photo, Huron High School senior Reese Uecker served as a page in the Senate during the current legislative session in Pierre. He was sponsored by Sen. Jim White, R-Huron. The son of Randy and Sandy Uecker of rural Huron, Reese plans to attend Northern State University to pursue a double major in political science and education. Reese said committee meetings he worked in helped him understand the duties and responsibilities of state government.
And next, James Valley Christian senior Aaron Eckmann served as a page during the current legislative session in Pierre. He was sponsored by Rep. Bob Glanzer, R-Huron. The son of Jim and Carol Eckmann of Cavour, Aaron plans to attend Northwest College in Orange City, Iowa, with a dual major in engineering and athletic training. Aaron said he hoped to use his page experience to make new friends and learn about the legislative process.
