DE SMET — Patricia Ann Ferguson, 65, of De Smet, passed away July 14, 2017, at Doughtery Hospice Home in Sioux Falls.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 20, at Christian Missionary Alliance Church in De Smet with Reverend Martin Reynhout officiating. Burial will be in Manchester Cemetery at a later date.
Patricia was born September 11, 1951, in Portland Ore. to Harvey and Helen (Cooling) Charpentier. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1972.
She was united in marriage to Vernon Ferguson in 1976, and they lived in Santa Monica Calif. She worked for General Telephone of Oregon as a CAMA operator. In 1983, they moved back to Manchester and lived there until June 2003, when a tornado forced a move to De Smet.
She loved her music, and played the organ, keyboard and other instruments. She read braille books and on the computer, as she was blind from birth.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon; siblings, Ron Charpentier, and Sharlyn Walsh both of Washougal Wa.; stepsisters, Bertile Lewis, and Maureen Longfellow; and two stepbrothers, Joseph and Harvey JR. Charpentier
She was preceeded in death by her parents; and grandparents.
