FAULKTON — Patrick J. McGrath, 78, of Faulkton, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Faulkton. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery with military honors. A wake service will be 4 p.m., Sunday with visitation one hour prior at the church.
Patrick J. McGrath was born March 10, 1939, in St. Peter, Minn. to Terrance and Margaret (Hoven) McGrath. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. and was united in marriage to Sandra Vopat June 15, 1965. He owned McGrath Dirtwork and was a member of the Faulkton VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Trina (Dean) Herll of Brandon, Jim McGrath of Clarkfield, Minn., Wanda (Brad) Hanson of Faulkton, Robert (Jenny) McGrath of Harrisburg, and Kathy (Brian) Simpson of Herrick; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Matt (Gloria) McGrath, Greg (Linda) McGrath, Sandy (Ken) Pfiefer, Sheila Hoke, Bill (Norma) Litchenberg, Janice Litster, and Noel Doerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marcelline Hunnel, Margie Potter, Francis McGrath, Terry McGrath, and an infant brother; stepbrother, Tom Dunn; infant grandson, Adam Simpson;
