HURON — The community is invited to attend the annual Patriot Day Remembrance ceremonies, set for 8:30 a.m. in the front of the Federal Building in Huron. The ceremony is in recognition of the anniversary of the Sept. 11 events from 2001.
A brief program commemorating this day and a ‘moment of silence’ significant with the time when the first hijacked plane flew into the New York World Trade Center are observed. People are invited to gather around the flag pole to pay tribute and honor to those who were lost, the first responders and those they left behind.
The Federal Employees Program Council has coordinated this program each year since 2002.
