HURON — Pearl Kambel, 80, of Huron, formerly of Hitchcock, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 24, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial in Altoona Cemetery near Hitchcock. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by a 7 p.m. scripture prayer service at the Welter Funeral Home or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Pearl Inez Aanenson was born July 7, 1937, in Miller to Obert and Dorothy (Kent) Aanenson. She attended school in Miller. She was united in marriage to Donavan D. Kambel, Sr. December 28, 1957. The couple moved to Hitchcock where she worked as a cook at the school for 17 years.
She is survived by her children, Donavan (Narumi) Kambel of Homestead, Fla., Debra Kambel of Aberdeen, Brenda Traver of Huron, Bernard Kambel of Homestead, Fla.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margie Aanenson, brother-in-law, Terry (Lavone) Kambel, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donavan, Sr; brothers, Burt Aanenson, Bill Aanenson, Chuck Aanenson and sister, JoAnn Perkins.
Arrangements are under the care of Welter Funeral Home in Huron.
