At the upper left, Friday’s Food Vendor of the Day is Schroeder’s Snack Shak, owned and operated by Alan and Eva Schroeder from Mount Vernon. Located in front of the Expo building, Schroeder’s Snack Shak offers a variety of items, including its best selling tender steak bites, fried Oreos, and their lemonade. The Snak Shak is a family-run business and has been coming to the State Fair for 13 years.
At the upper right, meet Delilah, the Animal of the Day. Delilah is a five-month old Holstein heifer, who was born on April Fools Day. She is owned by the Scherff Farm located in Trent and she hangs out in the Beef Complex.
And below, The Board of Veterans is a new vendor at this year’s fair. Owners Scott and Roxy Weinzetl, veterans themselves, are from Ethan and normally attend fairs in the central states surrounding South Dakota. Boards of Veterans sell flags and plaques that are stained, clear coated, and sealed. Many are made of members of the armed services, including National Guard, Army, Air Force, as well as EMTs, Firefighters and more. Their best selling itemBoards of Veterans is located near the Independent Midway.
