Phyllis Ehrk, 90, of Wolsey

WOLSEY — Phyllis M. Ehrk, 90, of Wolsey, entered Heaven’s gates on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4, at First Presbyterian Church in Wolsey with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service and time of sharing at 7:30 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home in Huron, or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Phyllis Maxine Brown was born December 15, 1927, in Tustin, California to Ives and Lila (Kelly) Brown. As a child, the family moved to Grants Pass, Ore. Phyllis married Lloyd Ehrk in Huron, January 19, 1948, and to this union five children were born. Phyllis became a loving homemaker and farm wife living on the same family farm for 70 years, from her wedding until the time of her passing. Phyllis enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, dairy farming, and raising baby calves. She also enjoyed putting together puzzles and reading. The love of her life was her family.
Those grateful for having shared in her life include her children, John (Susan) Ehrk of Wolsey, Fred (Sandy) Ehrk of Wolsey, Nancy (Jerry) Graves of Pierre, and Mike (Julie) Ehrk of Thornton, Colo.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David (Katrina) Ehrk and their children, Cain, Kendra and Mike Rautenkranz of Okabena, Minn.; Adam (Kari) Ehrk and their son, Bryce of Aberdeen; Ashley Ehrk of Huron; Amber (Chad) Beck and their son, Hayden of Huron; Bret (Caitie) Graves and their children, Piper, Phoebe and Owen of Pierre; Brian Graves of Pierre; Tara (Rob) Backer and their children Makenna, Braeden and Kendall of Castle Rock, Colo.; Kayla (Jeremy) Bruzdzinski of Alexandria, Va.; Danielle Ehrk (Ted Crichton) and their son, Eastynn of Romeville, Ill.; one sister, Dona (Robert) Baize of Grants Pass, Ore.; one brother-in-law, Raymond (Edie) Ayers of Medford, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
 Phyllis was preceded in death by her dear parents; husband, Lloyd in 1993; her daughter, Peggy Ehrk; granddaughter, Cynthia Ehrk, both in 1984; one sister, Doris Ayers; and her nephew, Denny Baize.
