HURON — The Huron Pink Ladies Dart League hosted its 4th Annual Benefit and Team Dart Tournament on April 29, at The New Plains.
Pink Ladies Dart Leagues can be found in many communities across the Midwest, with the first such organized league originating in Yankton. The Huron group began in 2012 with 14 Pink Ladies participating in a dart league. Initially, the league raised money by paying an increased league fee, which got donated back to the organization. Eventually, Pink Ladies Dart Leagues came up with other fundraising options, including raffles, dart tournaments and other activities. Pink Ladies donate the money they raise to people in the community who are or have been affected by cancer.
The league started with five doubles teams in 2013 and numbers dropped to as low as four teams until November of 2016, when their league ballooned to 20 teams, making it necessary to divide into two leagues, with a total of 50 Pink Ladies participating.
