Plainsman to drop Thursday edition

Posted

To Plainsman readers:

It is a recurring theme, but as the ripples of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to grow, some tough decisions must be made. As advertising revenues dwindle, due to businesses being altered or closed from the virus, the Plainsman is making tough decisions as well.
Staff hours have been cut for hourly employees and salaried employees have been reduced by a minimum of 10%. And while that lowered expenses, it cannot make up for the shrinking revenue we are dealing with right now.

So, effective immediately, the Plainsman will temporarily stop publishing a Thursday newspaper.
The Plainsman will publish papers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as Friday and the Weekend paper for the time being, but will continue to share breaking news on our social media channels including Plainsman.com, our Facebook page and via Twitter.
We join every individual and business in the city, region, state and nation, in our hope that the coronavirus passes quickly and everyone can return to a more regular life.
We also join everyone in our sincere thanks to those in the emergency services and healthcare fields, as they continue to work tirelessly to care for our friends and family.
