Players of the Week 10-28

HURON — The offensive front for the Huron football team earned the offensive  Player of the Week honors in helping the Tigers to more than 200 yards rushing and 400 total yards of offense during a 34-13 win against Mitchell on Thursday.

Members of the offensive line are Ethan Remington, Max Kretschmar, Tristan Cardona, Sebastian Cardona and Drew Arteman.

Elliott Devries earned the defensive honor for helping limit Mitchell’s potent ground game from his defensive end position.

Sebastian Cardona also earned the special teams honor for his duties as center on extra points and field goals.

Scout team honors went to Beauty Moon, who serves as a running back and linebacker.

During the previous week, when Huron recorded a 27-8 victory against Tri-Valley, Jayden Beck, Derick Siemonsma and Aung Min earned Player of the Week honors for the Tigers.

Beck had a pair of rushing touchdowns, including a 74-yard scoring run to claim the offensive honors.

Siemonsma led the defensive unit in tackles and had a quarterback sack from his linebacker position, along with delivering a few big hits on the ball carrier.

Min earned the special teams award with a pair of field goals and a touchback on a kick off.

Huron, which is 4-5 and ranked No. 5 in the final Class 11AA rankings, will open the postseason with a game at Sturgis Brown on Thursday. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. MT.
