SIOUX FALLS — Priscilla Hoppel, 96, of Sioux Falls, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 27, at First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home’s located at 507 S. Main Ave. in Sioux Falls.
Priscilla Ann Korte was born November 21, 1921, in Huron. She attended school in Beadle County and graduated from Huron High School in 1939. She attended South Dakota State University for one year. In 1941, she went to work for the Veteran’s Administration in Washington, D.C.
She was united in marriage to Clement Hoppel August 11, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif. She worked for various governmental agencies during the World War II years, while her husband was in the service.
They returned to the Midwest in 1946, moving to Sioux Falls in 1957. She returned to work in 1968 for the U.S. Department of Labor in Sioux Falls, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Robert), and Brent (Marjorie); grandchildren, Nicole and Jacqueline (Travis); and great-grandchildren, Audrey and Miles.
