Kranzburg — Randall “Randy” Francis Mack, 69, of Kranzburg, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 17, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a scripture service at 4:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Monday, October 18, all at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Church Cemetery.
Randy, otherwise known as “Big R”, was born to Sylvan and Corrine (Seefeldt) Mack on November 9, 1951, in Watertown, SD. He attended school at Holy Rosary, Waverly and Lake Area Tech.
On June 17, 1978, Randy married Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Schwanke and they resided in the Kranzburg area all of their 43 years of marriage while raising their four children: Jennifer (Jamie) Comes, Lacey (Jacob Wierzema) Schmeling, Lucas (Emily) Mack and Amanda (Nathan) Miley. Randy spent the bulk of his life as a self employed truck driver and was always known as a tireless worker. He also loved camping, hunting, fishing and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. However, of all the things he loved, his wife and family were at the top of that list. He would do anything for anyone. Never one to raise his voice or lose his temper, he still knew how to have fun…and did! With his laid back, unassuming nature, we are sure he had no idea how much he is going to be missed.
Randy is survived by his four children and their spouses and 10 grandchildren with one more on the way. He is also survived by eight siblings: Colleen (Jim) Peterson of Eagle Neb., Steve (Beverly) Mack of Watertown, Paulette (Dick) Deville of Watertown, Lynne (Greg Krech) Stricherz of Huron, Mary Lea (Steve) Yseth of Watertown, Tim (Lori) Mack of Huron, Barry (Teri) Mack of Huron and Rob (Sue) Mack of Watertown. In addition, he is survived and adored by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends too numerous to count.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; sisters, Gina Mack and Val Mack; brother, Kerry “Guy” Mack; brother-in-laws, Stan Stricherz and Roy Schwanke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 166, Kranzburg S.D. 57245.
