HURON — Randy N. Erickson, 70, of Huron, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
His Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 16, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Randy was born August 29, 1947, in Huron to Edward and Wanda (James) Erickson. He attended Huron schools graduating in 1966.
He joined the U.S. Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Viet Nam Service Medical with 1 star and the RVN Campaign Medal with Device. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
He was united in marriage to Janet Sutton November 3, 1973. He was a United States Postal mail carrier for 28 years in Huron.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, carpentry, painting, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Huron; children, Darrin (Kelly) Erickson of Aurora, Colo., Neil (Carla) Erickson of Sioux Falls, and Stephanie (Shane) Hannah of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Reda Hansen of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts and uncles.
