Raschke, Nemek, Baruth elected to Dakota Energy board

HURON - Three new board members were elected in Tuesday's board elections for a seat on the Dakota Energy Cooperative board during the annual meeting. With a line of cars that stretched out to the highway throughout the voting time window, Dakota Energy's Facebook page reported that the annual meeting had record attendance.

The final votes were tallied, and Darrell Raschke, Tommy Baruth, and Nick Nemec won their respective races for board seats. Each will serve a three-year term.

Gross/Raschke election
789 votes cast

485 votes for Darrell Raschke (61.5%)
304 votes for Dave Gross (38.5%)

Madison/Baruth election
790 votes cast
551 votes for Tommy Baruth (69.7%)

239 votes for Jeffrey Madison (30.3%)

Allen/Nemec election
785 votes cast
515 votes for Nick Nemec (65.6%)
270 votes for David Allen (34.3%)
