MADISON — Raymond “Wes” Dwight Westerberg, 96, of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 12, at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Raymond Dwight Westerberg was born January 15, 1921, at Maple Lakes, Minn. to Albert and Hedwig (Wennerberg) Westerberg. At three years old, his Mother died and he went to live with Uncle and Aunt ,Vernon and Emma Westerberg at Iroquois. He graduated from Esmond High School in 1939.
He was united in marriage to Mary Marie Ischen in 1943. The couple moved to a farm in the Fedora area in 1947, were they farmed until they retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a board member of his township for several years.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Westerberg of Madison; sister-in-law, Esther Ischen of Fedora; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wes was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marie; and six brothers, Leonard, Harry, Forrest “Shorty”, Floyd, Aldo “Ernie” and Hadleigh.
