Redfield 12th in A golf tourney

VERMILLION — The Redfield Pheasants were in 12th place with a score of 407 after the opening round at the Class A state golf tournament Monday at the Bluffs Course in Vermillion. On the leader board for the next 18-holes are Sioux Falls Christian in first at 330, Parkston with 344 in second, followed by Tea Area with 347, Lennox at 354 in fourth and four strokes behind is Vermillion.
Lance Christensen of Little Wound had a score of 77 to take the title, tied in second at 78 was Sioux Falls Christian’s Carson Van Beek and Quinn Bormann of Parkston, while Dalton Plucker came in fourth with 80 for Lennox.
Leading the Pheasants was Isaac Suchor in 27th with a score of 87, Jaxon Frankenstein was in 50th at 96, 67th was Dylan Stephens with 102, while Jaxon Campbell tallied 122 for Redfield.
The final round will take place today in Vermillion.
