Redfield golfers close season at 2023 Class A State Tournament
RAPID CITY — Four Redfield golfers capped their high school careers during the final round of the Class A State Tournament on Tuesday at Hart Ranch Golf Course.
Jaxen Campbell, who led the Pheasants in the opening round with a 93, shot a 103 during the final 18 holes of play to finish at 196. He finished tied for spot No. 81.
Tristan O’Daniel shot one stroke better in the second round with a 99 for Redfield to finish tied for 84th at 199, while Seth Domke had a 106 score Tuesday to finish tied for 91st at 207.
Rounding out the lineup for the Pheasants was Kevin Weller. He finished with a 236 total to finish 95th.
Despite shooting seven strokes worse than his opening round 68, Anthony Lanham of West Central claimed the individual championship with a 143 total.
Vincent VanLiere of St. Thomas More was second at 145, followed by Dakota Munger of Chamberlain at 151. Rounding out the top five were Cooper Girard of Vermillion at 154 and Carter Langle of Elk Point-Jefferson at 155.
Vermillion, which led by 16 strokes heading into the final round, held on to win the Class A team title by a stroke. The Tanagers finished at 642, while Tea Area improved five strokes for a 643 total.
Dakota Valley was third at 652, followed by St. Thomas More at 664 and Chamberlain at 679.
Redfield was 14th at 838.
