REDFIELD — Richard “Doc” William Baus, 86, of Redfield, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Eastern Star Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Eastern Star Chapel, and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield followed by a prayer service and rosary.
Richard “Doc” William Baus was born November 16, 1932, in Potter County to William and Gertrude (Flock) Baus. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1956, with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He was united in marriage to Carole Schmidt June 11, 1955. He was a veterinarian and founded the Animal Health Center in Redfield.
He is survived by his wife, Carole; children, Mark Baus of Bridgewater, Conn., Tom Baus of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Brian Baus of Pierre, Laurie Gabriel, and William Baus both of Redfield; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Nathon Baus; and nine siblings.
