MITCHELL — Richard Rames, 59 of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at his home under Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 18, at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Alpena.
Richard John Rames was born October 3, 1957, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. to Ronald and Lois (Rumple) Rames. He grew up in and attended school in Huron, graduating in 1976. He worked at Trail King in Mitchell and the last years at Twin City Fan.
He loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, turkey hunting, motorcycling with his twin brother, Michael, and birdwatching with his parents.
He is survived by his father, Ronald Rames of Watertown; three siblings, twin brother, Michael Rames of Alpena, Susan (Mark) Meidinger of Alexandria, and Paul Rames of Mitchell; nephews and nieces, Damien (Cindy) Shaver of Yankton, Kahleah Rames of Alpena, Marcus (Carrigana) Meidinger of Huron and, Sharra Meidinger of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents; and sister-in-law; Cindy Rames.
