Richard “Skip” Boub, 85, of Redfield

REDFIELD — Richard “Skip” Boub, 85, of Redfield, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield. 
His memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 2, at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home. His wish was to be cremated and have his ashes buried next to his wife in the Orangewood Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
Richard Morris (Skip) Boub was born July 25, 1932, in Redfield to Kenneth Leo and Helen Esther (Morris) Boub. He was united in marriage to Darlene Hoffman August 17, 1956. After he graduated from the SD School of Mines, they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. He worked for Motorola for many years.  In 2007, they returned to Redfield. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952. He transferred to the SD National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1953.
He is survived by nieces, Vicki (Bob) Warne, and Joni Boub both of Pierre, and Char Williamson of Redfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; son David; brother, Jerry; and sister-in-law, Winifred (Freddie).
 Arrangements have been entrusted to Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home.
