HAYTI — Robert “Bob” Larson, 81, of Hayti, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls as a result of West Nile.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, August 24, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Hayti. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Lutheran Church in Hayti.
Bob was born March 3, 1936, at Watertown to Selmer and Emma (Stormo) Larson. He graduated from Hayti High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Patricia Walraven October 23, 1965. He was a member of the S.D. National Guard from 1959 to 1965. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Hayti. Besides farming, he also worked as a Legend seed dealer and a SweetPro Feed salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Timothy, Jeff, Gerald (Brittany), all of Hayti, and Sarah (Dennis) Gentry of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; sisters, Oral Svarvari, and Elaine Corey both of Bryant; brother-in-law, Lloyd Kuecker of Brandon; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Larson of Hayti, and M’Liss (John) Fuhr of Arlington; several nieces, nephews, and his faithful companion, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
