HURON — Sioux Falls Roosevelt emerged with a sweep in a spring baseball doubleheader against Huron on Monday at Klock Field.
After both teams scored a run in the opening inning, the Rough Riders scored four runs in the fourth inning to open a 5-1 lead.
Huron scored its final run in the sixth inning before both teams went scoreless in the seventh inning.
Dawsyn Rogers had two of the three hits in the game for Huron. He also had an RBI.
Johnny Hernandez pitched the first five innings for the Tigers, with five strikeouts. Rogers threw the final two innings and had four strikeouts.
The second game went scoreless until the fourth inning when Roosevelt put three runs on the board. Huron answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning, but from there on out it was all Rough Riders as they scored two runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning for a 9-1 victory.
Max Kranzler started on the mound for Huron and went five innings with six strikeouts. Jaren Sammons pitched the final two innings and had a strikeout.
The Tigers will host Brookings today.
