RoseMary ‘Rose’ Songer, 74, of Huron

HURON — RoseMary (Rose) Songer, 74, of Huron, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. 
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service with burial in the Winner Cemetery at Winner will be held at a later date.   
RoseMary Powell was born December 7, 1943, in rural Winner to David J. and Hazel J. (Merchen) Powell. She grew up and attended schools in the Winner area. Her most rewarding job was that of taking care of her family as “Mom” and “Grandmother.” She also worked as a team member for Jack Links for 12 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, playing pool and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Songer; children, David (Joni) Tracy of Norfolk, Neb., Darrell (Kari) Songer of Huron, Donald Songer of Dallas, Douglas Songer, Duane (Ruth) Songer, Brian (Tonya Petersen) Songer, and Timothy (Leslie) Songer all of Huron, Charlotta Schieffer of Riverton, Wyo., Carolyn (Kurt) Wallace of Arlington and Vickie Songer of Huron; 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Myra) Powell of Winner, Don (Connie) Powell of Parkston, Darlene (Bill) Determan of Pierce, Neb., and Betty (Harold) Lund of Sand Springs, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Daniel and Jimmy Songer; brothers, John and David Powell; granddaughter, Rebecca; great-grandson, Ethan; and daughter-in-law, Jodi Songer.
