HURON — The top-ranked Rushmore Thunder scored the final five goals to pull away for a 10-4 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Sunday at Bergman Arena.
The two teams combined for seven goals in the opening period, which ended with Rushmore holding a 4-3 advantage.
Lucas Snyder had the opening goal for the All-Stars on a power play, with Thacher Dramstad and Carson Duba combining for the assist to even the score at 1-1.
Huron then took its first lead of the game with a goal less than a minute later on an unassisted shot by Xavier Erickson.
Rushmore needed just 24 seconds to even the game at 2-2, but the All-Stars regained the advantage led that minute later as Rei Hoops scored on a pass from Duba on a power play.
