Huron High School

In World History II at Huron High School, the students are finishing up learning about the “Roaring ’20s,” the “Great Depression,” and what lead to WWII. Next week they will be spending time on WWII, the events that lead the U.S. in joining the Allies, the Holocaust, and the aftermath of WWII.

Consumer Economics students are learning about running their own business and everything that goes into making it a successful business by participating in a Junior Achievement simulation presented by Junior Achievement volunteer Dustin Mattke.

The Foundation of Technology students are currently learning about Excel and doing the work associated with the different aspects of Excel. They have also been working on creating projects to use in the 3-D printer that was recently purchased.

In Intro to Audio/Video, the students are in the process of finishing their music videos. They recently created short clips using chromakeying (green screen) and will be designing and editing a commercial in the coming weeks.

Accounting I students are finishing up the business cycle for a proprietorship. The last part of the business cycle is closing entries and creating a post-closing trial balance. When they have completed that chapter, they will have a short simulation in which they will show the mastery of the business cycle by incorporating all parts of the cycle.

The Accounting II students are learning about figuring straight-line depreciation on assets and journalising the selling of assets.
