S.D. Ambassadors of Music trip

Local members of S.D. Ambassadors of Music recently returned from a goodwill tour of band and choir concerts in Europe.

The group took part in a tour camp June 17-20 at South Dakota State University, where they learned the selections they would be singing and playing.

On June 21, the entire group of 300-plus flew to England. From there they visited France, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The group returned to the United States on July 6.

Over the past year, local youth involved in S.D. Ambassadors of Music, hosted intermission concessions for each of the five concerts hosted by the Huron Area Concert Association.

The HACA 2023-24 series will begin its concert series Monday, Sept. 25, with Phat Cat Swinger, an 11-piece band that specializes in high-energy music.

Other concerts will include pianist Jason Lyle Black on Monday, Nov. 13; The Empire Trio on Sunday, Jan. 23; The Garms Family, a Christian couple and their six children, presenting a concert Sunday, April 14; and 7000 miles to Broadway with Tony Award nominee Robert Spencer who entertains audiences with a musical journey on Thursday, May 16
