SDGA Junior Tour makes stop at BCGC

HURON — The South Dakota Golf Association’s Junior Tour made its annual stop at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron on Wednesday.

A pair of Heartland area golfers topped the scoring columns at the end of 18 holes.

Jayce Pugh of Miller fired a 90 to take the top spot in the girls’ 12-13 division, while Huron’s Landon Roberts carded a 77 on his home course to lead the pack in the 14-15 boys’ division.

Fellow Miller golfer Kaihlyn Anderberg finished third in girls’ 12-13.

Aiden Zavesky of Huron scored a 97, good for eighth in the boys’ 14-15 and Teagan Mason of Frankfort finished 14th in the category.

Huron’s Bryn Huber shot an 85 in the girls’ 14-15, good for second place, three shots back of Quionn Dannenbring of Mitchell.

In the boys’ 16-18, Bennett Geraets of Sioux Falls shot a 73 for the top score, while Wessington’s Austin Boomsma tied for second with a 76. Jevin Goertz of Huron shot 89, good for  9th place.

In the girl’s 16-18 division, Danielle Podoll of Aberdeen shot an 83, to edge Huron’s Karlie Bigelow by a single stroke.

Kenya Bigelow of Huron shot 91, placing her fifth in the field.

The SDGA Adult/Junior Championships will be held at BCGC July 26, following by the Junior Championships at the same course, July 27-28.
