PIERRE — The South Dakota High School Activities Association presented academic achievement team awards to athletic teams and fine arts groups for their academic excellence.
Groups that achieve a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible to receive the SDHSAA Academic Team Award.
Fine arts groups recognized in this region include:
• Highmore: Newspaper, student council and yearbook.
• Howard: Large group band, large group chorus, student council, visual arts team, yearbook
• Huron: All-State Band, All-State Jazz Band, band solo-ensemble group, debate and individual events, large group band, large group chorus, large group orchestra, newspaper, one-act play, orchestra solo-ensemble group, student council, vocal solo-ensemble group, yearbook
• James Valley Christian: One-act play
• Miller: One-act play
• Wolsey-Wessington: Band solo-ensemble group, one-act play, vocal solo-ensemble group
