HURON — Several area participants are slated to compete in the South Dakota High School Rodeo Association Finals, which started Tuesday and runs through Sunday at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Ft. Pierre.
The first go for boys’ cutting, girls’ cutting and reined cow horse was held Tuesday, while the second go and short round in those events will held today.
The rest of the event will have their first rounds beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday. The second round is slated for 5 p.m., Friday, with the short go slated for 4 p.m. Saturday.

Barrel racing — Layni Stevens, St. Lawrence; Kaitlyn Sandland, Letcher; Raylee Fagerhaug, Wessington Spings; Callie Aamot, De Smet; Dale Forman, Ree Heights; and Tatum Carey, Huron.
