MILLER — With a starting spot on the outside of the front row, Cole Searing of Huron had little trouble claiming the victory during the WISSOTA super stock main event on Saturday at Miller Central Speedway.
Searing, who leads the super stock standings at the speedway, led from start to finish to collect his 38th career feature win in Miller. He is now tied with Lorin Johnson of Miller for the most wins in the division at the track.
Tailing Searing across the line in the super stock main event were Jeremy North of Huron, Kip Myers of Ethan and Tyler Myers of Ethan.
In the WISSOTA late model feature race it was Lyndon Bolt of Rapid City eyeing the victory. He led the first 10 laps of the race until the red flag was brought out to stop the field. The stoppage was to allow the ambulance to cross the track in order to tend to a pitcrew member who was hit by a rock from the track.
When racing resumed, Bolt led the way until Josh Skorczewski of Aberdeen moved to the front with two laps to go. While attempting to regain the top spot, Bolt powered into the back of Skorcqzewski and spun up the track, collecting Brian Diede of Huron in the process.
Diede was able to continue, but couldn’t catch the leader during the final two laps, as Skorczewski claimed his sixth feature win in Miller.
Diede was second, followed by Chad Becker of Aberdeen, Curt Kranz of Watertown and Quentin Myers of Pukwana.
Kyle Knouse of Huron emerged with the win in the WISSOTA Midwest modified main event. After snagging the lead from Britt Williams of Fort Pierre on the second lap, he led the next five laps before being passed by Lorin Johnson of Miller on a restart situation.
Johnson pulled away from the field, but a flat tire with a lap and a half remaining ended his pursuit of the victory. The departure moved Knouse back to the front of the field, where he would earn his fifth feature win at the speedway.
Jayme Peterson of Highmore, who started 13th after experiencing mechanical issues in the heat race, climbed to finish second behind Knouse. Spence Pollock of Orient was third, followed by Cory Berquist of Huron and James Reiner of Wessington Springs.
Broc Stout of Winner started sixth and was able to make his way to the front of the field on the second lap of the WISSOTA street stock feature race. He stayed there for the remainder of the race to record his 22nd feature win at the track.
Zack Pollock of Miller won a hard-fought battle with Blayne Baloun of St. Lawrence to claim the second spot. Cole Phillips of Winner was fourth, followed by Chris Serr of Aberdeen.
Jordan Rawstern of Blunt held off Mike Hammill of Miller to secure the victory in the pure stock main event. It was his 12th win at the speedway.
Curtis Johnson of Miller was third, followed by Destrie Morris of Miller and Kyle Vasvick of Ellendale, N.D.
The WISSOTA modifieds had the night off Saturday in Miller to compete in the Advantage RV Mod Dirt Tour at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen.
