James Valley Christian 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
HURON — The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings evened its record at 10-10 on the season Tuesday night, with a 3-0 win over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in 281 Conference volleyball action at the JVC gym.
Julia Blom led a balanced Lady Viking effort, notching six kills and an ace, while both Angelina Zuccaro and Brenna Held had four kills. Rebekah Williams passed out 15 assists and had three aces and the defense was led by Allison Blom and Williams.
SBA, which falls to 2-16 on the season, was led by Lindsey Wilken, Shariah Brockel and Beth Konechne, each with four kills. Wilken and Aja Paul each had aces at the service line and Abby Haun had 12 set assists. Dori Brockel had 13 digs and Victoria Paul had nine to lead the Crusader defenders.
JVC will be back in action on Thursday, when the Lady Vikings host the Lady Spartans of Wessington Springs, while the Crusaders travel to Wolsey-Wessington on Tuesday.

De Smet 3, Lake Preston 0
LAKE PRESTON — The De Smet Lady Bulldogs controlled the action from the outset, shutting out the Lake Preston Divers 3-0 in volleyball action Thursday night. Set scores for De Smet were 25-14, 25-22 and 25-20.
Rynn Osthus had eight kills, five aces and two blocks, while Kennadi Buchholz and Autumn Wilkinson each had five kills. Wilkenson and Cierra Sazue chipped in two aces each and Sazue also contributed a pair of blocks.
Grace Albrecht had six set assists to lead the Lady Bulldogs, who move to 9-10 with the win.
The Divers, 2-17, got a match-high 10 kills and eight digs from Lindsay Hillestad. Lexie Larsen had 10 assists and also had five kills. Marissa Rober had a pair of aces and Ava Malone had 10 digs to lead the defense.

De Smet will play at Castlewood on Saturday.

WOLSEY — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds pushed their season record to 10-6 Tuesday night with a dominant 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-20) 281 Conference volleyball triumph over the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans.
Chantel Haider had seven kills and four aces, Lizzi Brandt had six and four and Raquel Nelson had six and three to lead the Lady Warbird offense. Shayla Muilenburg had 24 assists in the game and Cortney Sprecher had three blocks. Ally Boomsma led the defense with 17 blocks, with Brandt and Nelson each chipping in 13.
For the Lady Spartans, now 11-9 on the season, Makayla Dornbusch had five kills, three aces and seven digs in the match.
Grace Gran added five kills and a block, while Piper Jones had four kills and an ace. Chasity Vissia handed out 20 assists and added three aces, while Sierra Burg led the defenders with nine digs. Maddie Neely also had eight digs.
Wolsey-Wessington play in Redfield on Saturday, while Wessington Springs is at Dakota Christian, also on Saturday.

TULARE — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots fought back from a 2-0 deficit Tuesday night, but eventually dropped a 3-1 non-conference volleyball match to the Ipswich Tigers. Set scores for the Tigers were 25-17, 25-19, 26-24 and 25-23.
H-T, now 11-12 on the season, was led by Dawsyn Otto’s 16 kills and two aces, while Dannyn Peterson added eight kills. Kenidee Enander had 31 set assists in the game and also had 44 digs. Elizabeth Salmen also had 39 digs.
Ipswich got 20 kills and four aces from Abigail Grabowska, while Lindsey Grabowska added 11 kills and had 37 digs. Halle Heinz had 23 assists and Bailey Pitz had 22 for the Tigers, who move to 16-9 with the win.
Chesney Olivier led all defenders with 54 blocks.
Hitchcock-Tulare is on the road at Sanborn Central-Woonsocket on Monday.

Miller 3, Platte-Geddes 0
MILLER — The Miller Rustlers pushed their season record to 23-2 and their winning streak to 18 straight matches, with a 3-0 sweep of the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers in non-conference volleyball action.
Kadye Fernholz led a team effort for the Rustlers with 20 kills, three aces, a block and seven digs. Kailen Krause added a pair of aces, Madison Wetz and VonnaGail Schlecter each had seven kills and Schlecter also led the defense with 15 digs. Josi Stevens had 10 digs and four kills for Miller.
For the Black Panthers, who fall to 9-12 with the loss, Tori Weins had six kills and four blocks, while Sawyer Naasz and Ally Holter each had four kills.
Avery DeVries had seven assists and contributed nine digs. Regen Hoffman led the P-G defense with 16 digs.
Miller will travel to Wolsey-Wessington on Monday to take on the Lady Warbirds.
