HURON — Senior Derick Siemonsma earned Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the Huron football team for his play in a game Friday against Canton at Tiger Stadium.
Offensively, as a tight end, Siemonsma had a touchdown and played well as blocker in the run game, according to Huron coach Scott Spanton. Defensively, he led the Tigers with 16 tackles, including two for a loss and had a sack.
Siemonsma also serves as the team’s punter and showed improvement with his hang time this week, according to Spanton.
Kelby Dickson, who is an offensive and defensive lineman, was selected as the Scout Team Player of the Week.
Huron, which is ranked No. 5 in this week’s Class 11AA rankings with a 2-2 record, will travel to face Sturgis at 6 p.m. MT on Friday.
